Why Boson Collider

Australia builds world-class deep tech research. Few researchers ever build companies from it.

Boson Collider closes the gap between the lab and the cap table. Over 12 weeks, scientific founders learn how venture capital actually evaluates intelligent deep tech — from technical risk to commercial wedge — and leave the program with the language, the network, and the early validation to raise capital and ship product.

Run by Boson Ventures alongside operators and investors active across AI, robotics, and automation, the program is fully non-dilutive. Founders engage with Boson on standard investment terms only if they choose to.

The three pillars

A founder's edge, designed deliberately.

01

Industry & market access

Direct engagement with the engineering, regulatory and procurement leaders who decide whether a deep tech product is bought. Founders leave with named champions — not warm intros.

  • Corporate Collider Sessions with industry partners
  • Customer discovery sprints in your sector
  • Procurement, clinical and regulatory navigation
02

AI, robotics & automation

A working command of the modern intelligence stack — not as a buzzword, but as a layer that compresses time-to-product across every deep tech category.

  • Compute partnerships and applied AI mentorship
  • Robotics, perception and embodied systems clinics
  • Automation tooling for laboratory and production scale-up
03

APAC growth

A go-to-market plan that takes the region seriously from day one. Singapore, Japan, Korea and Greater China are not later-stage afterthoughts — they're often the fastest route to a paying customer.

  • Asia GTM strategy and partner mapping
  • Regional investor and corporate introductions
  • Cross-border IP, structuring and hiring guidance
Inside the 12 weeks

From scientific thesis to investable company.

The program runs in three connected phases. Every session is hands-on, every output is something a founder can take to a customer, an investor, or a board the following week.

Weeks 1–4Phase one

Foundations

Sharpen the thesis. Pressure-test the technical risk, define the wedge, and translate research vocabulary into the language a venture investor and a first customer both understand.

  • Founder identity and team formation
  • Defensible deep tech wedge
  • Market mapping and customer hypotheses
  • Modern AI stack literacy for deep tech founders
Weeks 5–8Phase two

Customer & capital

Run real discovery cycles with named buyers and named investors. Build the financial model, the technical roadmap, and the regulatory plan side by side, not in sequence.

  • Corporate Collider Sessions with industry partners
  • Pricing, unit economics and capital strategy
  • Regulatory, clinical and IP planning by sector
  • APAC go-to-market strategy
Weeks 9–12Phase three

Launch

Turn the work into momentum. Founders close design partners, sharpen the raise narrative, and present to a private investor room at Collider Demo Day.

  • Design-partner agreements and LOIs
  • Investor narrative and data room
  • Collider Demo Day with Boson Ventures and partner funds
  • Post-program founder community
Sector tracks

Built for the sectors where AI rewires real industries.

Cohort 1 invites founders building at the intersection of advanced intelligence and three high-leverage sectors. Each track has its own clinics, mentors, and customer access.

Track 01

Healthcare & life sciences

Diagnostics, drug discovery, surgical robotics, clinical AI, and intelligent therapeutics — with structured navigation of clinical evidence, reimbursement, and regulatory paths.

  • Clinical AI
  • Diagnostics
  • Surgical robotics
  • Drug discovery
Track 02

Advanced manufacturing

Industrial automation, factory perception, materials, and intelligent production systems — paired with operators from Australian and APAC manufacturing.

  • Industrial robotics
  • Computer vision
  • Materials
  • Process AI
Track 03

Clean tech & energy

Grid intelligence, energy storage, climate modelling, and the electrification of heavy industry — with clear paths into utility, infrastructure and government channels.

  • Grid AI
  • Storage
  • Climate
  • Electrification
A VC-led model

Run by people who actually back deep tech for a living.

Most pre-accelerators are managed by program staff. Boson Collider is built and run by the same investment team that backs APAC deep tech companies through Boson Ventures — the people writing first cheques, sitting on boards, and helping founders get to Series A.

Founders see the program from the inside: how a real fund triages, how a real partner thinks about defensibility, and how a founder team is evaluated before, during, and after the program.

100%Non-dilutive. No equity taken by the program.
1:1Active partner time, not generic mentorship hours.
12 wksLive program. Lifetime founder community.
An intentionally broader pipeline

Deep tech moves faster when the founder pool isn't narrow.

Boson Collider is built so the founders who get in actually reflect where the next decade of Australian and APAC deep tech talent will come from — women in STEM, first-generation founders from migrant communities, First Nations entrepreneurs, and researchers building outside the major capital-city innovation hubs.

Blind first-round review

Initial applications are screened without names, institutions, or demographics so the strength of the thesis is what carries through.

Targeted outreach

Active partnership with women-in-STEM networks, multicultural chambers, Indigenous business networks and regional innovation hubs.

Designed for access

Hybrid attendance, recorded sessions, travel support for regional founders, and a mentor pool that reflects the founders we want to attract.
